Skijoring @ Loup Loup Skijoring demo on frozen Alta Lake
Robbie & Uma, Chuck & Yaz Angel & Jon take a break
When the weather is nice, before we get into the hot summers of Lake Chelan or in the cooler fall, we get our "kids" in shape for skijoring by doing scooter-joring. We hook our crew up to scooters and have them pull us on dirt trails. Having your dog be able to respond to commands is essential, otherwise you're at his/her mercy! Safety gear is highly recommended as if you were going skateboarding. When the snow flies, we're chomping at the bit to go skijoring. Uma is our lead dog when it comes to pairing new dogs whom haven't tried skijoring. She knows the commands and will keep the "student" on track. We provide clinics or individual instruction and can connect you with skijoring resources for gear and places to go.
